JACK FOUND GUILTY AS CHARGED OF MURDER AND CRUELTY TO JUVENILES
On September 14th, Aaliyah N. Jack, 28, Lake Charles, was found Guilty as Charged of Second Degree Murder and Cruelty to Juveniles.
In 2024, Jack Abandoned her four year old son at welcome center, where he was later found deceased in a body of water. After Jack abandoned her four year old son, she then abandoned her one year old son in a ditch on the side of Interstate 10 where he was found two days later by a truck driver.
“A mother’s most basic responsibility is to protect her children. Aaliyah Jack abandoned that responsibility in the most devastating way possible. She left one child alone at a welcome center and then abandoned another child in a ditch along Interstate 10. One of those children died as a result. There is no excuse for what happened to these innocent children, and this verdict ensures that Jack will be held accountable for her actions. While nothing can bring this child back or erase what these children endured, this conviction delivers justice on their behalf. I am grateful to the prosecutors, law enforcement officers, first responders, and everyone who refused to let these children’s suffering go unanswered,” said District Attorney Stephen Dwight
Sentencing for Jack will be November 5th before Judge Michael Canaday.
First Assistant District Attorney Jacob Johnson and Assistant District Attorney Trisha Colonna prosecuted the case for the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office
“I hurt my kids before anybody hurt my kids,” Jack said in the recording.
“Aaliyah, you did that?” her mother asked.
“Yes, ma’am,” she replied. “Aw, no,” her mother wailed.
“I know. I know,” Jack said over her mother’s cries.
